Laboratory "Investigation and modeling of the structure and properties of metallic materials"

Areas of scientific activity:

  • Modeling of physical processes (models of rolling, welding, thermal treatment, and crystallization);
  • Mathematic modeling of the processes forming the microstructure of metallic alloys as a result of various influences;
  • Development of the models for description of dependence of metal’s final mechanical properties on the defining parameters of its microstructure;
  • Development of new steel grades and techniques for their processing (automobile/pipe/shipbuilding steel grades);
  • Development of the products with a set level of properties; development of the techniques for obtaining the materials with nanostructure;
  • Development of new thermoelectrical materials; reproduction of welding cycles;
  • Preparation of expert reviews.

Laboratory’s main partners:

  • OAO Severstal
  • FSUE Central Research Institute of Structural Materials “Prometey”
  • OAO "Hi-tech Research Institute of Inorganic Materials named after Academician A.A. Bochvara”
  • Czestochowa University of Technology
